Prayers

For privacy purposes those in this post will remain unnamed, aside from one...

A couple of weeks ago some of our closest friends experienced something that one should never have to experience, the loss of a child. It was extremely unexpected as she was just shy of 21 weeks pregnant. I cannot express into words the emotions that have come from this horrific tragedy.

We have a very close, small group of friends. This group is actually really involved in each others lives. This pregnancy was announced to all of us at the same time while on a camping trip this summer. It was excitement for each and everyone of us. We were all excitedly awaiting the reveal of the sex when we got another type of life altering information. This beautiful child was already gone...

After an intense couple of days and a "team" of people at their beck and call, our friends delivered their beautiful little girl, Faith. Then they had to think about the "now what" questions.

I love these people dearly, as well has their baby girl. While my heartache comes nowhere near the pain our friends have felt/are feeling, I am hurting...for them and her.

I have constantly prayed for them since this happened, but especially for my dear friend, the mom. Tears have been shed for them, their loss, Faith, the hope for their future, etc.

Tonight, I sent her an email of things that I felt had been laid on my heart by God. Songs of healing and hope were sent her way, as well as, letting her know that I am here no matter what...or when. One of the songs that has been previously shared with her was Blessings by Laura Story. It is a beautiful song. However, tonight I shared several others, Perfect Peace by Laura Story was one of them.

I feel like there is more I should/could do, but I have no idea how. I know prayer is a way of helping, but part of me wants to take the pain from them...just to give them some relief.

So, early this morning, I am asking that when you speak with your God, please say a prayer for my friends and their beautifully, perfectly made daughter, Faith. I will pray that God will help you to know what their specific needs are.

L, you are truly loved and prayed for!

I leave you with this beautiful song by Brandon Heath- Love Never Fails You

Fall

This fall weather has been bliss!!! I have had the windows open for a week and the candles with fall scents are lit! It is so NICE outside!! Being out of school has let enjoy the weather even more!

There has been so much going on that I don't even know where to begin.

  • it seems like EVERYONE I know is pregnant! I bet I can name at least 20 people that are pregnant and due between now and early March. It is a great blessing for these folks! Many of which have struggled with getting pregnant.
  • both the kiddos are in Middle School now and that means there things going on left and right...on top of their wonderful new attitudes!
  • I have been couponing like crazy and saving more than $400 on groceries in the month of August. Much of the stuff is below $1 so I have been able to make quite a nice little stockpile.
  • I haven't found a teaching position as of yet. This means I am still doing the Ed. Assistant thing, but this year I am at a different school and working in inclusion.
  • C and I have joined a new church!! It is a great church!!
This is all I can think of right now...I have been trying to relax as much as possible, but this is nearly impossible. :(

I hope you are enjoying fall... It is my favorite season!

It's been awhile!

It has been a full 6 months since I blogged...but I have a good reason (well, maybe not). I have officially graduated from college with 2 degrees in education and a minor in psychology. This last semester was the most trying as a lot has happened in our house since I last blogged (another post). Now, I am searching for teaching jobs and looking into starting my Master's this fall...yes I am crazy.

I have a lot to prepare for if that is something that I do, plus I have to finish my Praxis tests.

I got to looking at my resolutions from the previous post and I am not doing so well. :( I do not think I have complete or even begun any of them. That is in a way what brought me to the blog today. Due to everything that has gone on in my house in the last six months, I have gotten away from me and peace. I have really fallen away from some really important things that have previously helped me in troubling times. I have to find that again. Thus, the reason i got to looking at my resolutions.

This weekend we are going camping with some of our closest/best friends. I am also hoping that this will be a bit of a jump start for me in relaxation, peace, and finding me again. We are going to be on the lake and I know the beauty of God will be seen...I just want to slow down and take it all in.

Something else I am doing is trying to simplify my life and house. This means removing obstacles and clearing a free path to life. I am not a clutter person anyways, but I live with a couple. :) This will include getting everything out of our lives that is keeping us from being the best us. I know when fall rolls around and school begins I will be (hopefully) busy with a new classroom. Simplifying has to be a mindset and physical process.
